A watch on a leather strap photographed under low light

Authentication

Authentication before completion.

No watch reaches a buyer, and no seller is paid, until a specialist at one of our hubs has received, inspected and documented it.

Chain of custody

We can show who had the watch, and when.

  1. 01

    Handoff

The seller brings the watch to a hub or hands it to an insured courier. The package is opened on camera.

  2. 02

    Intake

Reference and serial are recorded. The watch is photographed from every angle and given a custody tag.

  3. 03

    Inspection

A specialist works through a structured checklist. Every step is timestamped against their staff ID.

  4. 04

    Sealing

Once passed, the watch is packed with a numbered tamper seal and photographed again.

  5. 05

    Dispatch

Insured shipping to the buyer, delivered only against signature and ID.

The inspection

Seven stages, in order, every time.

Specialists cannot pass a watch until every mandatory check is complete. Anything uncertain is escalated to a senior authenticator.

  1. 01

    Identity

Reference, serial and case markings are consistent with each other and with the manufacturer's records for that model.

  2. 02

    Exterior

Case, bezel, crystal, crown, dial, hands and bracelet examined under magnification for originality and tooling marks.

  3. 03

    Movement

Caseback opened where appropriate. Calibre, finishing, rotor and bridges compared with known references.

  4. 04

    Functions

Winding, setting, date, chronograph, GMT and bezel action tested. Timing measured on a timegrapher.

  5. 05

    Accessories

Box, warranty card and papers checked against the watch and each other.

  6. 06

    Condition

Every component graded and photographed. Compared line by line with the seller's own description.

  7. 07

    Result

Pass, review required, or fail, with notes and evidence retained for the life of the transaction.

Outcomes

What happens after inspection

Passed

The watch is sealed and shipped to the buyer, insured. The buyer receives the full inspection report.

Condition differs

Authentic, but materially different from the listing — for example an undisclosed scratch. The buyer sees the seller's description and our findings side by side, with photos, and chooses to accept the watch or cancel for a full refund.

Not passed

The buyer is refunded in full. The seller receives nothing and no fee is charged to the buyer. The watch is handled according to our policy and applicable law.

The report

A professional inspection report, not a certificate.
